1999-2004 Cluster Upgrade Kit
Coming soon: The speedometer, tachometer and fuel gauge are surprisingly accurate in the stock cluster. However, many people question the accuracy of the stock temperature gauge. The voltage gauge is accurate below 12 volts, but stays at a High-Normal position as the voltage goes up from there. And the oil pressure gauge is still driven by a 6PSI pressure switch that closes above 6 PSI. This makes the stock the pressure gauge a vitual idiot light.
Our 99-04 Cluster Upgrade Kit adds an electronic circuit onto the back of the cluster. During installation, the stock voltage gauge, oil pressure guage and temperature gauge are isolated from the cluster electronics and driven by the new circuit. That curcuit accurately drives the voltage gauge, the temperature gauge (intercepting the temperature sender signal at the sender) and when used in conjunction with a replacement Autometer oil pressure sender (model number 2242), provides and accurate, oil pressure reading on the stock gauge.

When used with a properly marked aftermarket gauge face set, you can have accurate knowledge of the conditions inside your vehicle's engine. Accutach is working with several replacement gauge face vendors to develop gauge faces marked with voltage, temperature and pressure graduations on the gauges, although the upgrade kit will provide accurate meter movements on the stock gauge face with their "Normal" range markings. Here is an example of a calibrated gauge face from

The upgrade kit requires key-on power and a good chassis ground connection. It intercepts the sender signal wiring at the sender. Should you ever decide to remove the upgrade kit, the car can be easily put back to stock.
