RPM-selectable Analog Tachometer Calibrator Peripheral

This calibrator can be used to calibrate and repair analog tachometers such as those found in  Fords, Acuras, Hondas and others of the 1980s and 1990s by generating an extremely accurate frequency that can be varied from 0 to over 10,000 RPM.  This calibrator can also drive electronic speedometers such as those found in Fords of the 1990s, albeit only at lower speeds (speeds less than 180 degrees from the 0 MPH mark.)   This tachometer Calibrator can not be used to calibrate inductively-coupled tchometers such as the Smiths tachometers found in British cars of the 1960s.

It requires the use of a PC (Microsoft Windows NT or newer) with a sound card and a well regulated 12 volt power supply capable of supplying at least a 1/4 amp current square wave.  A small bench power supply will work well, although a charged car or motorcycle battery will also suffice.  We recommend you read the user's manual prior to purchase to ensure you are comfortable using this product. Click here to download the user's manual.  This unit requires the use of a third-party freeware software package called "Digital Signal Generator", which can be downloaded here: http://heliso.tripod.com/download/generator/dsg.htm
